Solidarity Youth Voluntary organisation (SOYVO) is a leading pro-youth programming organisation in Togdheer Region of Somaliland.
The organisation was founded on the 1st of January 2003 with a major mandate to build self reliance amongst the youth in Togdheer and other parts of Somaliland.

The organization is involved in diverse activities that are of great benefit to the society. The organization is involved in Sports, Education, Human rights, and community awareness such as Environment protection, HIV/AIDS and FGM. These services are aimed at:
Alleviating poverty by providing the target group with skills that will increase their chances of employment and;
Assisting the drought affected victims recover from the impact of prolonged drought and environmental degradation.
To encourage the society to respect human rights principles and democratization methods.

SOYVO has Youth Development Center at its Headquarters in Burao which needs to be strengthened in its capacity to provide internet based support.
The office facilities have enough space to have a working environment. The center providing for building cross-Cutting Positive Youth Development Assets and Programs; Counseling, trainings, assembly, Basketball and indoor Games
SOYVO DRAMA TEAM IN BURAO

SOYVO Drama team was legally established in April 2006 with a view to introduce Drama art in Somaliland. The Drama performances shows featured different messages including the Principles of POLIO virus , issues around street children , basic health matters , AIDS prevention, etc...
As in the first Drama Festival were held in May 2006 in Ambasador hotel Hargeisa, more than 600 spectators attended the free events every day . The next festival was held in Burao town, and The venue was the main public place in the centre of the town.
Baraarug Newsletter is Somali version monthly magazine which produced by SOYVO; aims in strengthening its efforts to bring about positive changes in the Youth Participation at Local level. Though there are many needs of the Youth and requests to continue as information sharing as tools to use the news letter.
Every two months we print and Distributed more than 1000 copies of Baraarug News letter, To educate and encourage youth to participate in the democratic process and other social issues by developing their potential; identifying their own needs; co-constructing strategies to address these needs; addressing the extent to which these strategies have met their needs;
Youth Democracy Participation Program

Endowment support project named Youth Citizenship/ Democracy participation program in Burao, Somaliland to educate youth about democracy, elections, and citizenships, to encourage their active participation in democratic processes, so as (SOYVO) will attempt to mobilize a group of potential youth leaders by providing a practical civic education that emphasizes issues that are relevant and accessible to youth.
on this program were focused on the basic principles of democratic governance, including accountability, the division of power, representation, corruption, the concept of social conscience and the importance of participation in democratic processes
Somaliland Youth Livelihood Program
Education Development Center (EDC) and SOYVO share a similar vision concerning the strong potential of training, career counseling and work experience to improve livelihood outcomes for Somali youth: through a sub-award agreement with EDC, SOYVO is to develop and implement a training and placement program for literacy & numeracy, work readiness skills that supports SYLP’s goals and leverages the Souktel text messaging/online job match system.
Literecy & numerecy courses in Togdheer rural areas

SOYVO started the implementation of LITERECY & NUMERACY Courses Rural AREA in Togdheer region targeted group are approximately 200 women above 15 years of age, in Yirowe, Hayira, Magalo-Yar and Qoryale.
This intervention will contribute to improve the livelihoods of women in Togdheer region, by ensuring that:
“Adult and young women in rural areas have access to NFE programs (including literacy, numeracy and life skills) which will contribute to their participation in public decision making and employment”
PROTECTION MONITORING PROGRAM
In 2006 uto and 2009, a comprehensive protection monitoring and reporting mechanisms was designed by NRC/UNHCR and trained Four person from the Solidarity Youth Voluntary Organization (SOYVO) to monitor and report Human right violations in the various communities for prompt prosecution. This initiative highlighted the violations of Human rights across the Togdheer region.
Norwegian Refugee Council collaborating with UNHCR agreed to collaborate with SOYVO to conduct different activities for PMT and PMN. SOYVO monitors who involved are four were two are women in movement tracking /protection monitoring within the period under review.
Waste Management educating

Awareness Campaign on Solid Waste Management educating community in five schools in Burao for disposal of solid waste, support to Public Private Partnership establishment process,
awareness campaigns, cleaning campaigns, collection of tools and safety gears, to encourage them participation and sustaining of disposal of solid waste of the city, especially village level up to public places. Including; training, Drama shows, Visibility and creating students committees.
